I read Eve Freers letter in last weeks issue of The Advertiser and I am in complete agreement with her comments.

The Snaxs On Trax kiosk must be a great boost to the confidence of the disabled volunteers who help to run it, whilst at the same time providing them with social interaction and working experience. I feel sure that putting these young people back into day care or some sort of alternative arrangement at our Town Library will not fulfil their requirements.

I feel the announcement of the kiosk closure without public consultation or explanation on the part of Worcestershire County Council is a huge mistake.

Councillor Sheila Blagg has stated that funding finished in 2014, yet another year of funding was given in order for the provider to find a sustainable solution.

This leaves me wondering why £30,000 is required to support a volunteer- run business such as this.

Surely ingredients are bought in, prepared and then sold at a profit.

So where is the shortfall? Do London Midland charge rent on the property? Does WDC Levy Council Tax? These are the sort of questions that need answering before any such closure is considered.

In any event £30,000, if actually required to support this facility, is a drop in the ocean in the coffers of Worcestershire County Council.

We in Droitwich Spa are being treated as the poor relations yet again.

So in conclusion I would say to WCC, please give this situation a serious re-think or at least provide the tax payers of Droitwich Spa a more detailed explanation for your decision.
