There is still hope for station

10:21am Friday 30th July 2010

YOUR otherwise excellent article on the handover of the Bromsgrove Society presidency from me to John Weston did not include any reference to my farewell address to the members, which covered my work over the past 12 months.

Good Samaritans

10:22am Friday 30th July 2010

ON Saturday, July 10, my mother, myself and the dog had just entered Bromsgrove High Street at 11.45am when my mother became extremely unwell – it was very hot.

It’s dangerous

7:00am Monday 26th July 2010

I found S Taylor’s comments a little unbalanced and puzzling with regards to the matter of the Oakalls roundabout.

Family dog thanks

7:00am Monday 26th July 2010

ON Sunday, July 18, our much loved family dog escaped from home and was knocked down on Primsland Way, Droitwich Spa.

Birthday bash

7:50am Sunday 25th July 2010

I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Gary, the bar staff, DJ and security staff at The Dog and Pheasant pub in Bromsgrove for hosting my daughter’s joint ‘sweet 16 birthday bash’ with her best friend last weekend.

Many thanks

7:40am Sunday 25th July 2010

ON Saturday, July 3, I lost my keys while walking the dog in the canal/Vines Park area.

Callous location?

7:40am Saturday 24th July 2010

I am writing to express my whole-hearted support for the letter from Nigel Self regarding the Kids Army Shop.

Time to move on

7:40am Saturday 24th July 2010

I AM writing to you regarding your story about the lights at Parkside School.

Keep your dogs under control

2:44pm Friday 23rd July 2010

I took my dog for a walk in the Lido park this evening.

Pension fears

2:45pm Friday 23rd July 2010

Ray Chinn, head of pensions, stated on BBC TV on July 15 that people are investing less into pension schemes, which is not surprising when you know people who paid into Equitable Life for 25 years only to find it had gone bust just when their pension was due to be paid out.

Support for shop

7:30am Tuesday 20th July 2010

IN response to Nigel Self’s letter published in the July 14 edition. I visited the Kids Army Shop and I have to say I totally disagree with his comments.

They must listen

7:30am Tuesday 20th July 2010

Concerning the school lighting saga at Meadows/Parkside. BAM claim to have listened to residents. They may have listened, but they have not heard. The residents went to a meeting with BAM and the county council offering a few suggestions for modifications to the lighting, all of which were rejected by Bam in a later statement. The only changes they were prepared to make were the replacement of four column lights, already declared non-compliant by the environmental health officer, with bollards lights. As two of the column lights were placed less than a metre from our boundary with the site, lighting up our garden like a night match at Villa Park, we welcomed the changes. Apart from curfews, to which they did not fully comply, and shields to the back of the lights, no other changes to the lighting scheme were suggested by Bam. The planning committee has heard the residents and, this time, after two previous attempts by Bam, has voted unanimously against the lighting application.

Free speech

7:30am Monday 19th July 2010

I want to thank Colin Brook for drawing my attention to the statement I made about the unemployed being given vouchers instead of money for benefits, Your View, July 7, as he rightly pointed out that most would prefer to work given the chance, so I will put that right now.

Full of beans

7:30am Monday 19th July 2010

I would like to thank my family, friends and everyone who gave their support to the recent coffee morning I held in my garden to raise funds for The Mary Stevens Hospice.

Someone listens

7:20am Sunday 18th July 2010

Perhaps in future I should criticise just Droitwich councillors, and not all Wychavon Council or its officers.

Free parking

7:20am Sunday 18th July 2010

The Droitwich Spa Music Festival in the town centre was another well organised event.

What’s in a name

7:20am Saturday 17th July 2010

The issue regarding misspelt street names in Droitwich was raised in your newspaper last year.

Who will pay?

7:20am Saturday 17th July 2010

Will the education of existing residents’ children be harmed by planners insistence on building 800 more homes at Copcut, plus 1,750 others elsewhere in Droitwich?

Changes have gone far enough

2:25pm Friday 16th July 2010

I live on The Oakhalls housing estate.

It’s a no show

2:26pm Friday 16th July 2010

I READ with interest your lead in Time Out, Connie back with favourite music, when at the end of the article you list the performances that Miss Fisher will not be appearing in.
