ON behalf of all the bingo pensioners from Vines Lane Friendship Club, I would like to say a big thank you to the person who gave the money to replace the bingo machine which was stolen from their club.

I have just returned home from helping run a stall at the Bromsgrove Carnival and through your page I would like to say a huge thank you to the organisers of this year’s carnival.
9:00am Tuesday 7th July 2009
Bromsgrove Rovers Supporters Society (BRSS) would like to thank everyone who made donations to our tombola stall and to everyone who had a go on splat the rat, play your cards right, the tombola and not forgetting name the bear at the Elizabethan market.
11:00am Monday 6th July 2009
While out enjoying the weather on Saturday, June 27, I spent some time in the late afternoon sat in the High Street with my wife and our pet dog Buster.
10:50am Thursday 2nd July 2009
I AM writing as a concerned citizen of the Bromsgrove district.
10:50am Thursday 2nd July 2009
I am sure I speak for the many hundreds of parents of girls who have been coached by Sheila Perks to enhance their netball skills.
9:40am Thursday 2nd July 2009
Prince Charles has been receiving a great deal of flack from the arty community, especially architects, who feel that both he and us commoners have no understanding of taste where new buildings are concerned and that we should shut up and leave it to the experts.
9:50am Wednesday 1st July 2009
having just read in a national newspaper that the organiser of the Glastonbury music festival is being fined £3,000 because Bruce Springsteen broke the 12.30am curfew by nine minutes I wonder how much the residents of Droitwich Spa can claim from Droitwich Rugby Club for lack of sleep on Saturday night/Sunday morning, June 27/28.
9:45am Wednesday 1st July 2009
Back at the beginning of February, I wrote to Your View expressing my concerns for the future of the Droitwich Brine Baths complex.
9:47am Wednesday 1st July 2009
I am not one usually to write to papers, however I feel there is a conspiracy between the local press, business and politicians not to make a fuss about the closure of the brine baths, which have been shut for nearly six months with hardly a whimper of coverage.
9:48am Wednesday 1st July 2009
I am bewildered to find that the fishing rights relating to the Herrotts and Droitwich Vines Park Basin facilities, which are publicly owned, are now controlled by private enterprise – namely the Droitwich Angling Centre Please note that the Herrotts fishing facility and surrounding vegetation was efficiently managed by the Barley Mow Angling Club (of which I am a member) for 40 plus years. There were regular surveys regarding the welfare of the fish stocks. Restocking was financed by the club and carried out with the approval and in conjunction with the Environment Agency.

I have just been reading, with interest, Worcestershire MP Peter Luff’s expenses published online by the government and the first thing that strikes me is the amount of blacking out things that he does not want us to see, but the things he let’s us see include Diet Coke, mineral waters, biscuits, facial wipes, Kleenex Ultra toilet tissue etc and the list goes on.
7:50am Wednesday 1st July 2009
I am increasingly hearing of accidents happening on buses when the driver can’t be bothered to wait until the passengers are seated, more often than not on the main routes.
7:40am Tuesday 30th June 2009
Very long, noisy, polluting buses continue to use the narrow Warwick Avenue/Old Station Road/Clive Road route day and night.

Bromsgrove shopper, in the June 17 issue, feels strongly that his 61p daily contribution to the EU is money well spent, which is strange, as I have always regarded Bromsgrove folk as quite shrewd. He/she is apparently unconcerned that £ 41 million a day goes to a disorganised bureaucracy that has had no signed off audited accounts for 15 years and can only reliably vouch for seven per cent of its spending.
7:40am Monday 29th June 2009
HAS anyone noticed how many lanes around Bromsgrove contain the word “house” – Spirehouse Lane, Fishhouse Lane, Dusthouse Lane etc.
7:40am Monday 29th June 2009
Unfortunately, we hear a lot about misgivings in our elderly care homes, but because staff at The Priory Rest Home, Elmbridge, take on the role of family to their residents, there is definitely something good to boast about. For more than 12 years I have been visiting a member of family at this care home and now that his care requirements are becoming ever more demanding, the staff are persevering to keep his dignity and quality of life right up to the end.
7:40am Sunday 28th June 2009
I am a mother of three who has lived in the Bromsgrove district most of my life and in the past I have worked as a countryside volunteer. Having brought my children up to respect the countryside and wildlife around them, I am now teaching my grandchildren the same. I have experienced inner city children seeing the countryside for the first time and their amazement of what it offers. Also I have seen our greenbelt disappearing around us in Bromsgrove as we live in a beautiful area that offers us a wide range of wildlife.
