BROMSGROVE'S cricketers suffered the agony of having their Birmingham League Division One game with Walmley abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The lack of action was even more frustrating for Bromsgrove as Walmley have made a woeful start to the season, losing all their league games so far.
Skipper Mark Evenson said: "We were all geared up to start playing at 3.30pm when there was still enough time to get a 30 overs game in.
"But while we were having an early tea, we had an almighty monsoon that must have lasted for about half an hour which ruled out any prospect of play.
"By the time I left the ground, there were literally three or four ducks swimming around on the square.
"Walmley did have Warwickshire's Aaron Thomason in their ranks, but otherwise had a very young side who looked low on confidence. I would have backed us to get the 20 points."
Bromsgrove travel to Himley this Saturday who are likely to have in-form Worcestershire batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore within their ranks.
