BROMSGROVE draughts player Tony Boyle bagged third place in the Welsh Open.
Italian Walter Celani took top spot with 21 points ahead of Wales’ Lyndus Edwards on 20 with Boyle totalling 17.
Boyle lost just two of his 13 games, including a draw with Edwards, which signalled a welcome return to form.
Boyle, who is President of the West Midlands Draughts Association which is based in Longbridge, also runs Abstract Board Games, who meet every week at Crowtree Court in Bromsgrove.
