BROMSGROVE Sporting boss Brendan Kelly has been busy building his squad for next season.

Kelly has persuaded six more players from last season's title winning side to remain at the Victoria Ground.

But there is still no decision on striker Jason Cowley despite considerable interest from high ranked clubs.

Kelly has nailed down defenders Guy Clark and Danny Morris for next term together with midfield trio of Aaron Roberts, Harry Harris and Josh Quaynor plus striker Sean Brain.

Busy Kelly confirmed he is still waiting to hear from two more members of last season's squad, he said: "They've both got a bit of thinking to do as to whether they can deal with the extra travelling involved next season.

"I've also identified two or three players that I would like to bring in, but in truth, we finished last season so well, that there's no real need to make any wholesale changes.

"Admittedly there are quite a few lads who have not played at level four before but I'm not sure that will prove a problem.

"The nice thing is that I haven't really had to chase after players, apart from the ones I've targeted because we did so well last season.

"Instead my phone has been red hot with calls from people who want to come and play for us. But first I have to make sure they're the right players for Bromsgrove Sporting.

"Obviously those decisions will be influenced by whether Jason Cowley decides to remain with us.

"I will do everything in my power to keep Jason at Bromsgrove and as far as I'm aware, he still hasn't received any concrete offers.

"I've have absolutely no problems if Jason wants to try and progress and play at a higher level and I've had conversations with a number of managers from National League North and step three sides.

"I can't knock Jason for wanting to speak with other clubs, but he hasn't helped himself by picking up a five match ban to start the season with.

"But as I've said before, if I have to replace Jason, then I've got targets in mind."

Kelly also confirmed that Robbie Bunn had signed for Worcester City but refuted suggestions Sporting were interested and added: "I haven't spoken to Robbie since last March but wish him well in his new venture."
