ALVECHURCH and Hopwood continued their excellent start to the cricket campaign with an exciting two wicket win over Five Ways Old Eds to stay top of Worcester County League Division Three.

Mike Reuben proved the most economical of Alvechurch's bowling attack taking one for 22 off his 10 overs while Edd Rogers with two for 39 and John Pinsett who took two for 44 also amongst the wickets as Five Ways set a testing target of 208 for seven to chase.

Alvechurch squeezed home in reply with a winning 210 for eight with five balls to spare.

A decisive third wicket partnership between Nick Jones on 47 and Edd Rogers with 48 provided the platform for Alvechurch's victory.
