AVONCROFT improved their prospects in Worcester County League Division Three following a six wicket win over second from bottom side Rushwick.

After restricting Rushwick to 196 all out, Avoncroft knocked off the runs to reach 197 for four in the 36th over.

Craig Hughes cracked 77 while opening partner Will Sach supplied 73 as the pair laid the foundations for victory with a first wicket partnership worth 124 runs.

Mark Wood had earlier proved pick of Avoncroft's bowling attack by taking three for 30, backed up by Paul Athey's two for 30 and Dan Elliott's two for 35.
