THE award winning play, King Charles III, which already this year has gained such accolades as the Olivier Award, Critics’ Choice and South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best New Play, heads into the locality this coming week for a six-day run.

Starring Robert Powell, the play takes its audience into the realms of when the Queen is dead and after a lifetime of waiting, Prince Charles ascends the throne. A future of power. But how to rule?

Mike Bartlett's play explores the people underneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain's most famous family.

Having already enjoyed critically acclaimed sell-out runs at the Almeida Theatre and London’s West End the play is directed by the Almeida’s artistic director Rupert Goold with Whitney Mosery.

Robert Powell takes on the role of King Charles, alongside Penelope Beaumont, Jennifer Bryden, Richard Glaves, Dominic Jephcott, Lucy Phelps, Ben Righton, Giles Taylor, Parth Thakerar, Tim Treloar, Beatrice Walker and Paul Westwood.

King Charles III is at Malvern’s Festival Theatre from Monday, November 2 through to Saturday, November 7, 2015.
