WORCESTER Warriors' final Premiership fixture of the season has been thrown into doubt following reports that there has been an outbreak of positive COVID test results at Sunday's opponents, Sale Sharks.

The Mail Online reported the story in the last hour, suggesting the game could be cancelled after a ‘double figure number’ of positive tests.

It could mean that Sale have to forfeit their clash with Warriors, which would more than likely see them miss out on a play-off place.

Premiership Rugby confirmed on Friday morning that team announcements would be delayed until tomorrow in order for teams to assess fitness and injury concerns of their players after the mid-week round of fixtures.

There has been no confirmation from the league or from either Warriors or Sharks as of yet.

More to follow when we get it.
