A GROUP of Worcester Warriors players are showing their community spirit by volunteering to help out those who are housebound during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hooker Niall Annett, prop Ethan Waller, flanker Sam Lewis and lock Justin Clegg plus physiotherapist Dan Walton have made themselves available to collect and deliver shopping or prescriptions for those unable to leave home.

The Warriors team will observe health policy on social distancing while making the deliveries.

MICHAEL FATIALOFA IS WALKING AGAIN UNAIDED

“We are happy to help out in any way we can in the local community,” said Annett who is Warriors’ ambassador for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

“If there is food needing to be picked up or dropped off or people can’t get out to pick up prescriptions then we are there to help.

“We are targeting mostly elderly people because they are the most at risk.

"But the offer is out there and if anyone does need help then please get in touch.

“If someone is feeling isolated and needs a chat then we can also do that, it’s something that can be easily done.

“Although we are not at the club at the moment we have been given individual training programmes.

"So we are keeping busy but some people can’t do that.

"They are on their own and don’t have any company and they can’t keep themselves busy.

"We are here to do whatever we can to help.”

If anyone would like the Warriors team to help them email hello@warriors.co.uk.
