WORCESTER Warriors booked their place at Sunday's Premiership Rugby Under 18 League finals day with a 65-5 thrashing of Yorkshire Carnegie at Sixways.

The teenagers dotted down 11 times with the wings in devastating try-scoring form as Alex Evans and Tobi Wilson helped themselves to a hat-trick apiece.

There were further scores from Jack Forsythe, Finn Morgan, James Mann and a brace from Tom Miles.

Warriors finished second in the Northern Conference thanks to scoring one more try than Newcastle Falcons.

They now face Saracens, runners-up in the Southern Conference, in the opening match at finals day at Sixways (noon).

A quick double from Wilson and Mann put Warriors 10-0 up after just six minutes with the former finishing off arguably the try of the afternoon.

Scrum-half Ollie Wynn broke Carnegie’s defensive line before feeding Forsythe on the charge and he in turn moved the ball wide to Wilson for the first score.

Two minutes later Mann scythed over in the same corner to double his side’s lead.

The visitors responded positively on 11 minutes with Jack Cherry collecting a neat kick in behind to cross in the corner.

On 16 minutes a series of marauding carries from hooker Joe Richardson laid the platform before Finn Smith’s clever offload unleashed Evans to the line.

Smith converted and then the on-song Forsythe secured the try bonus point for Warriors on 18 minutes prior to Evans’ second of the afternoon.

The flier racked up his hat-trick with half-time looming with quick thinking from half-back Wynn providing the opening for Evans to dot down.

Smith’s conversion gave Warriors a 36-5 interval lead.

Wilson registered his second try eight minutes into the second period as Warriors' backs lined up on the near side to take advantage of a three-man overlap.

Warriors notched up try number eight on 46 minutes as this time Miles scooted in under the posts with Smith converting.

Miles then made it a Sixways double, powering over in the far corner to extend his side’s lead to 53-5 going into the final quarter.

Morgan added further gloss to the scoreline, escaping the attention of a scrambling defensive line to push his way over.

And Wilson celebrated his hat-trick with the last play of the match before Smith kicked the extras.

Warriors: Mann; Evans, Spencer, Atkinson, Wilson; Smith, Wynn; Murphy, Richardson, Reeve, Guy, Hagan, Lewis, Thomas, Forsythe. Replacements: Rowley, Hayler, Lane, Miles, Morgan, Harrison.

On finals day, Warriors' game is followed by Newcastle versus Bristol Bears at 2pm before London Irish and Leicester Tigers round off the day at 4pm in their bid to be crowned league champions.

The stars of the future take centre stage in an event which has previously involved the likes of Louis Rees-Zammit, Manu Vunipola and Marcus Smith.

Warriors had to dig deep over the season with victories over Wasps, Northampton Saints, Newcastle and Yorkshire, coupled with a try bonus point at Leicester Tigers, to qualify.

“I’ve been really impressed with our work-rate and performances in each of our league games,” said academy manager Mike Hall.

“We put a good run together after Christmas and we built momentum with the lads improving week on week.

"We’ve really improved on last season’s campaign and are all looking forward to the challenge of going up against Saracens at Sixways.

“As a club we’re honoured to be hosting finals day and there will undoubtedly be a lot of exciting rugby on show for the supporters to enjoy.”

Entry is free of charge.
