WORCESTER Warriors utility back Scott van Breda has joined former club Southern Kings on a short-term loan.

The South African outfit confirmed that van Breda had joined the team for their remaining two tour matches in the Pro 14.

Kings visit Glasgow Warriors tomorrow before traveling to Ospreys the following Saturday.

The move will provide a good opportunity for game-time for van Breda who featured twice in this season’s Premiership Cup but remains on the fringes of Worcester’s Gallagher Premiership squad.

Van Breda who previously played for Kings in 2013 is expected to be named on the bench for the province’s meeting with Glasgow.

The 27-year-old can play in any position in the back-line, but is likely to cover the hole left by the injury to fly-half Demetri Catrakilis.

“It’s great to have Scott here on loan from Worcester,” Kings coach Robbie Kempson told SuperSport.

“The fact that he can cover any position in the backline allows us to use his variety and he has a wealth of experience that will be invaluable in the remainder of the tour.

“More importantly he can cover every position in the backline and having him on the bench allows us to bring some calm if needed to the latter part of the game.”
