THERE will be no Worcester Warriors players in England’s side to tackle Barbarians for the first time since 2016.

Jack Singleton who leaves Warriors for Saracens this summer has featured in the Quilter Cup match for the past two years.

But the 23-year-old has been left out of Jim Mallinder’s squad for Sunday’s battle at Twickenham (3.30pm) with Bath’s Tom Dodd and Wasps’ Tommy Taylor getting the two hooker spots.

There is also no place for tighthead prop Nick Schonert who started in last year’s 63-45 defeat to the Baa Baas.

Northampton duo Paul Hill and Ehren Painter will contest for the number three shirt but Schonert, 27, will hope to be in the mix for a World Cup place after another impressive season for Warriors.

Flanker Ted Hill who made his senior international debut against Japan in November was not selected by Mallinder.

But the 20-year-old will represent England at next month’s World Rugby U20 Championship in Argentina along with fellow Worcester academy ace Kai Owen.

Former Warriors second row Will Spencer and Worcester-born lock Elliott Stooke are set to face Barbarians after being named in the 23-man squad.

Ex-Sixways star Phil Dowson has been appointed forwards coach for the non-cap clash.
