WARRIORS
9 PENNELL – an outstanding performance from the full-back who had a hand in four of Warriors’ five tries with excellent support lines and handling. My man of the match.
8 Heem – made a few uncharacteristic mistakes but weighed in with two tries. The second of those saw him fend off a couple of tacklers to score in the corner.
7 Lawrence – in what was a memorable afternoon for Warriors’ back-line the centre played his part but did not see as much of the ball and was forced off with a dead leg.
8 Venter – has done a brilliant job filling in for Mills at inside centre as he ran hard all afternoon and was involved in a number of superb moves in attack.
8 Humphreys – after a frustrating time with injury the wing looks to be back to his best as he provided the assist for Weir’s try and was a thorn in Tigers' side.
7 Weir – his run of successive conversions came to an end as he missed two kicks but scored the opening try and pulled the strings in a five-try showing.
8 Hougaard – teed up Hill for his score and crossed the whitewash himself as he showed his class against a weakened Tigers team at Welford Road.
6 Black – an indifferent afternoon at the scrum for the loosehead prop as Worcester were pinged on a few occasions. His replacement Waller also found life difficult.
6 Singleton – it may still be a little bit of rustiness creeping in but there were far too many wayward throws from the hooker as Worcester struggled in the set-piece.
7 Schonert – back in the side after training with England the tighthead prop refused hold back in the tackle but did not get it all his own way in the scrum.
7 Bresler – put in several monster hits, made some good carries and did well to disrupt Tigers’ lineout but was sin-binned for a no-arms tackle.
7 Barry – made a strong start as Warriors came bursting out of the traps but poor discipline from his side eventually resulted in him seeing yellow.
8 Hill – returning to Welford Road where he hit the headlines with a brace in September the flanker went over again, produced a fine pass for Heem’s second try and tackled tirelessly throughout.
8 Lewis – demonstrated his brilliance at the breakdown as his turnover inside his team’s 22 led to a stunning length-of-the-field try from Warriors.
8 Van Velze – another performer for Worcester as he helped launch the attack that saw Hougaard cross before setting up Heem for the visitors’ second breakaway score.
