Jofra Archer was cleared to play in England’s crunch World Cup match against
Australia at Lord’s despite a minor injury concern.

The pace bowler experienced tightness in his left side but was passed fit after
completing a light bowling session ahead of the toss.

The hosts head into the game on the back of a surprise defeat at the hands of
Sri Lanka and need a victory against their old rivals to strengthen their grip
on a semi-final spot with two games to play.

England will welcome the availability of Archer, the tournament’s joint leading
wicket-taker with 15 at an average of 17.93.

He has also bowled the most overs of any England bowler so far, 54.5, conceding fewer than five runs per over.

England won the toss and opted to bowl, fielding an unchanged team which meant Liam Plunkett remained on the sidelines.
