LeBron James had 22 points and eight assists as the Los Angeles Lakers won their third game on the bounce against the Phoenix Suns 120-96.

Kyle Kuzma scored 23 for the Lakers with six finishing with double figures at the Staples Center.

The Suns opened up an early 17-point lead in the first quarter, but the Lakers rallied to make short work of the the side with the lowest record in the NBA at 4-19.

It was a tighter affair in Florida, where Dwayne Wade sunk a pair of free throws with 3.2 seconds left as the Miami Heat saw off the Utah Jazz 102-100.

Hassan Whiteside had 23 points and 20 rebounds for the Heat, who sit 1.5 games behind Charlotte and Orlando in the Southeast division.

Anthony Davis hit 36 points and 19 rebounds as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Charlotte Hornets 119-109, while the Philadelphia 76ers continued their strong home form with a 103-95 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Pacific division leaders the Los Angeles Clippers lost late, with a Dorian Finney-Smith tip shot putting the Dallas Mavericks ahead with 34.3 seconds left.

Harrison Barnes top scored for the Mavericks with 30 in the 114-110 win.

DeMar DeRozan hit 36 points and had eight rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs upset the Portland Trail Blazers 131-118.
