WORCESTER City’s Midland Floodlit Youth League side remain joint top of the Southern Premier Division after only picking up a point from two games.

Owen Oxley levelled in a 1-1 draw with Gloucester City that City dominated.

They previously lost 3-1 at joint leaders Rugby Borough where a floodlight failure provided the hosts with respite just as City were trying to get back into the game.

Tom Mills scored for Worcester who have played three more games than their title challengers.

A disappointing first half cost City’s reserves who lost 3-0 to Uttoxeter Town at St George’s Park in the Midland League.

Matty Patrick-Rivers netted for the under 21s in a 4-1 defeat to Droitwich Spa BG who scored through Ben Cowlishaw (3) and Lucas Edmonds.

City’s under 13s beat Alvechurch 6-0 in the Nerf Junior Premier League through Haydn Parkes (2), Mason Ruff, Hayden Pegg, Plumer Osman and Sam Sheen.

The under 12s won 2-0 in the JPL at Kidderminster Harriers thanks to Ashton Doyle and Rafe Green.

City’s depleted under 11s JPL team did well against Pro Pathway as did their counterparts in the Mercian Fortis Junior League Cup against Oldbury Park Tigers Siberians.

The under 10s created numerous chances in the JPL against Bustleholme and the girls’ under 11s impressed in their first game for several weeks against Kidderminster Harriers.

While the under eights took on West Worcester, the only other game played was abandoned after a neck injury halted proceedings between the under 15s and Alvechurch.

The player involved got taken to hospital by ambulance but was OK.

Other games were postponed.
