BROMSGROVE picked up their third Midlands Premier League win of the season by beating Broadstreet last Saturday.

The Boars bagged a 17-7 away success and sit eighth in the table after six games.

The victory came hot on the heels of the previous weekend's narrow miss against leaders Bridgnorth to the delight of coach Dan Protherough.

He said: "We played really well in average conditions. The ball was slippery so our handling had to be good.

"The little things we worked on from the week before all worked out well and our mindset was good from the off and we got what we deserved from the game.

"I think we've been competitive in every game so far. We've made a few mistakes and errors at times but we didn't do that Saturday and it showed.

The Boars will now take on basement boys South Leicester at Finstall Park this Saturday.

Protherough added: "They have had a tough time so far looking at their results but the point is that it's easy to take your eye off the ball and we need top make sure we don't do that and prepare properly.

"A key thing for us this season will be how we cope with injuries. We will pick up more because the physicality is much more at this level but I think we have a deeper squad to deal with that."

Drew Harper will be assessed ahead of the weekend after a head knock last Saturday.
