STUDLEY boss John Edwards can't wait for the weekend to arrive.

His side will have gone three weeks without a fixture by the time they line up to face Stapenhill in Total Motion Midland League One.

Edwards admitted the layoff had been awkward to cope with, he said: "You don't expect it at this time of the season.

"What makes it worse is the fact we've lost the last three games that we've played and the first reaction is to get back playing as quickly as possible.

"We've managed to train twice a week but it becomes more difficult and the excuses start coming in.

"We've still got eight games left to play and the last thing I want is for the season to fizzle out.

"We've had an inconsistent season but I still want to finish as high as possible."

Despite the enforced layoff, Edwards has still managed to sustain another injury to his squad after Anthony Miller was hurt playing Sunday football for Redditch side Black Horse.
