STUDLEY boss John Edwards breathed a huge sigh of relief this week when star striker Sean Brain chose to remain at the Beehive this season.

Brain had been the subject of considerable interest from a string of rivals club ever since he arrived at Studley from Evesham United.

The striker has already slammed home 19 goals from just 13 outings with Studley this season, Edwards said: "He's happy at Studley and has rebuffed all offers.

"I've lost count of the number of clubs who have been chasing him, We've had interest from the likes of Redditch United, Coleshill Town, Malvern Town and Stourport Swifts to name but a few.

"Sean's decision to stay has given everyone at Studley a real lift - apart from rival strikers at the club of course, who were probably hoping he would leave, so they could get a game.

"I worked really hard to get Sean from Evesham United and to only have him for 10 or 11 games and then lose him would have been a real kick in the teeth."

Studley host high-flying Atherstone this Saturday when Edwards could include new recruit Courtney Sowe, a central defender who was previously with Alcester Town.
