WORCESTER City goalkeeper Dan Jezeph is staring down the barrel of a recommended six-month ban for the outburst which saw him sent off against Westfields.

The ex-West Bromwich Albion and Walsall youngster was given his marching orders by referee James Cox after racing out of his goal to protest a fifth Westfields goal being allowed to stand in first-half stoppage time.

Jezeph, on dual registration with Tamworth, has admitted a charged of breaching rule E3 – improper conduct against a match official including physical contact, violent conduct and threatening and/or abusive language/behaviour.

The case is being dealt with by Worcestershire FA which is bound by national guidelines recommending a 182-day ban (26 weeks) plus up to £150 fine with the offence carrying a minimum of 84 days (12 weeks) and £100 fine.

There is no maximum penalty with the player’s previous record, mitigation and aggravating circumstances taken into account when a three-strong commission at the county association decides the 20-year-old's fate.

The next charge up – one which has not been levelled at Jezeph – is assault on a match official which carries a minimum five-year ban.

City got sent the charge on Friday, November 30 with Jezeph understood to have pleaded guilty without requesting a personal hearing. He has submitted written evidence.

A verdict must be reached within 28 days of the charge being raised with the findings set to be published.

The Sutton Coldfield-based stopper will remain suspended until the case is closed.

“The FA has been in contact with the club and we will act accordingly once we know the outcome,” said City manager John Snape.

“He was very irate and left his box after the goal was given. Dan held up his hands over the offence and we will see what the punishment will be.

“The club will try to back the player as best we can. He has made a mistake but overall, what happens will come down to what the FA finds.

“Dan knows he has been silly and was disciplined internally. He is a young lad who is learning and one thing is for sure, I don’t think he will be doing it again.”

Jezeph made his Tamworth debut against City in February 2017 having had temporary stints elsewhere while with the Lambs.

He dual registered ahead of the start of this season and has featured 19 times in blue and white, commanding a regular place ahead of Matt Gwynne and Sam Gilder, signed from Bishop’s Cleeve in September.

Seventh-placed City travel to Sporting Khalsa, the team directly above them in the table, for an Midland Football League Premier Division clash tomorrow (3pm).
