WORCESTER’S up-and-coming talent plundered the podium at the Worcestershire development meet at Wolverhampton with 45 medals and 18 golds.

Swimmers aged 13 and under looked to achieve or better their county qualify times (CQTs) and experience level three competition for the first time.

In the girls' nine year age group, Elizabeth Annis bagged golds in the 50-metre freestyle (38.09 seconds) and 100m individual medley (one minute 40.12 seconds), silver in the 50m butterfly (54.31) and bronzes in the 100m breaststroke (1.50.97) and 100m free (1.31.19).

Martha Colville won bronzes in the 50m butterfly (54.31) and 100m individual medley (1.49.50).

For the boys, head coach Mark Stowe said Jacob Cutler's wins in the 100m individual medley (1.24.76) and 100m butterfly (1.29.12) were two of the top swims of the day.

Cutler also claimed gold in the 50m breaststroke (45.95).

Meghan Higgs, in her first competitive open meet, won the girls' 10 years 50m freestyle (34.75) and took bronze in the 50m backstroke (43.13) and 100m freestyle (1.21.02).

Charlotte Richardson landed gold in the 100m backstroke (1.39.56) and Eve Hind snatched bronze in the 50m breaststroke (48.85).

For the boys, Ben Gooch took gold in the 100m individual medley (1.31.24) and silver in the 50m breaststroke (48.03) while Beau Vaughan-Hawkins grabbed gold in the 100m backstroke (1.31.26).

Daniel Thomas won four golds in the 50m freestyle (37.07), 50m backstroke (45.31), 100m freestyle (1.26.51) and 100m butterfly (2.05.23).

Thomas also claimed bronze in the 100m backstroke (1.36.91).

Harry Guest secured gold in the 50m breaststroke (47.84) plus bronzes in the 100m individual medley (1.37.10) and 50m freestyle (38.71).

Joshua Round won silver in the 100m breaststroke (1.57.42) with William Colville getting bronze (2.02.70).

In the girls' 11 year group, Ruby Ingles won silvers in the 50m butterfly (44.26) and 100m breaststroke (1.46.85), just edging out Grace Cox for bronze (1.47.93).

Libby Gooden-Morris picked up gold in the 100m butterfly (1.39.85), silver in the 100m individual medley (1.30.66) and bronze in the 100m freestyle (1.23.33).

William Thomas won silver in the boys' 11 year 100m butterfly (1.39.45) and Charlie Brooks got bronze in the 100m breaststroke (2.09.69).

Carmen West grabbed third in the girls' 12 year 100m breaststroke (1.39.55) and India Sherwood also took third spot in the 50m breaststroke (48.70).

There was a victory for Poppy Sawyer in the girls' 13 year 100m freestyle (1.15.42) and bronze in the 50m freestyle (33.45).

Poppy Daly took silver in the 50m breaststroke (47.53) plus bronzes in the 50m butterfly (40.35) and 100m freestyle (1.21.45).

Abigail Trow bagged silver in the 100m backstroke (1.32.99) and bronze in the 50m breaststroke (48.20).

Nathan Redfern won the 100m individual medley in 1.23.54 in the boys' 13 year group.

Worcester swimmers just outside the medals but with lots of personal bests included Abigail Walter, Lucy Keating, Maddison Lavoipierre, Lillie Sawyer, Elizabeth Parker, Scarlett Woods, Emma Baddeley, Lauren Wall, Alice Kearley, Amelia Venables and George Parker.
