DROITWICH moved off the bottom of Midlands One West with a 19-19 home draw against Hereford.

The result ended their losing start of four defeats and edged them one point above Longton.

Hereford ran the ball from inside their 22 in the first quarter and twice were turned over for Droitwich converted tries.

The visitors drew level before the interval and took a five-point lead but Droitwich hit back to restore parity.

On Saturday Droitwich visit Longton who were thrashed 82-5 at Bromsgrove last weekend.

Worcester slipped to a 24-17 home defeat to Dudley Kingswinford at Weston’s Fields.

They went ahead with an unconverted try and then regained the initiative with a penalty after the visitors hit back by adding the extras on diving over.

Dudley scored another try to go 12-8 ahead but Worcester narrowed the gap with a penalty before half-time.

The 10th-placed hosts went ahead with an early second-half penalty but Dudley broke away to score an unconverted effort in the corner.

A converted try extended the advantage to 24-14 before a late Worcester penalty took them to within seven points and rescued a losing bonus point.

Third-from-bottom Malvern went down 37-8 at Whitchurch with a Ben King penalty and Jack Curtis try.

Malvern host Bromsgrove on Saturday while Worcester go to Stoke and Hereford entertain Dudley.

Kidderminster kept up their 100 per cent start to the Midlands Two West (South) season with a 51-30 win at Rugby St Andrew.

Evesham fell 30-3 at Barkers Butts for their first league loss of the campaign.
