ALCESTER deflated rivals Dunlop with a last gasp try to secure their second win of the season in Midlands Three West South.

That was after Dunlop made all the early running which quickly reaped a couple of tries before their lack of discipline let them down.

Dunlop began to leak penalties and Max Biltcliffe took advantage by landing a couple of kicks before skipper Phil Birks crashed over for a try, cutting Dunlop's lead to 13-11 by half time.

Dunlop applied more pressure after the break and bagged a further try plus two more penalties.

With time running out, Jack Green got Alcester's recovery underway with a try before Biltcliffe added a further penalty.

Dunlop were then reduced to 14 players for the remainder of the game following a yellow card and Alcester took full advantage.

Three consecutive penalties saw Alcester kick for touch every time to earn themselves a lineout.

The final phase of play saw Alcester move the ball to either side of the pitch before Green grabbed possession to score under the posts and level the scores.

It meant the pressure was on Biltcliffe to kick the final points and he held his nerve to land the resulting conversion as Alcester claimed a 26-24 success.

The Second XV crashed to a heavy 64-5 defeat against Chaddesley Corbett with Scott McGee gaining Alcester's only points with a try.

This Saturday, Alcester entertain Ledbury while the Seconds take on Kidderminster.
