FAIRFIELD Villa flayed local rivals Feckenham 5-0 to remain two points off top spot in Total Motion Midland League Division Two.

Impressed Villa spokesman Paul Oakes said: "It was a five star performance all over the park, which was really pleasing as Feckenham have had a hold over us in recent times.

"In truth, we could have won by more goals as we looked solid throughout."

Connor Collins converted twice with Ellis Blakemore and Danny Ludlow also on target.

New signing Alfie Bloomer also got himself on the scoresheet after coming on as a second half substitute.

Oakes added: "Alfie was a Bromsgrove Sporting prodigy who went to Pershore Town and then Studley, but it didn't work out for him.

"He's related to our coach Lewis Smith which is the connection and he really looked sharp when he came on.

"More encouragingly, he seemed to bring out the best in Connor Collins as the pair complimented each other really well.

"But we were equally pleased to keep a clean sheet, especially as our goalkeeper Josh Goddard joined us from Feckenham."

Villa have another local derby on their hands this Saturday when they make the short trip to Redditch Borough.
