WORCESTER Raiders and Droitwich Spa clinched fine away wins in West Midlands League Division One.

Third-placed Raiders did an early double over mid-table Wyrley with a 3-1 success after beating them 5-2 at Claines Lane last month.

Roland Krol fired them ahead in the first half from Anthony Smith's pass and then Tyler Attwood finished off a Logan Stoddart assist in the second period.

Smith made it 3-1 to Raiders who host third-from-bottom Old Wulfrunians on Saturday (3pm).

Spa won 2-1 at promotion hopefuls Newport Town after going a goal down.

Mike Seeley’s poor header allowed Newport's Tom Fallon to finish past onrushing keeper Matt Oliver.

The hosts hit the woodwork twice, Oliver saved and Seeley cleared off the line late in the first half.

Spa improved in the second half and levelled on the hour when Newport captain George Hill turned the ball into his own net as James Lemon prepared to finish off Haydn Morris' low cross.

Right-back Curtis Townley scored the winner from the penalty spot after Bradley Burgess was brought down by keeper Ryan Asson.

Spa, who entertain Sikh Hunters on Saturday (3pm), have four wins from five games in fourth position.

Malvern Town had to settle for a 1-1 draw at AFC Bridgnorth in the Premier Division.

Bridgnorth went ahead but Town levelled just before the hour when Matt Turner put a low ball across the face of goal for Harry Clark to net.

Joshua Hunt was denied a late winner for Malvern, who host Shawbury United on Saturday, by a fine save.

Co-manager Dene Whittal-Williams admitted: "We’ll take the point because not many teams will come here and get anything this season.”

Pershore Town crashed 11-0 at Herefordshire side Wellington in the Premier Division.

Manager Paul Harris said: "I apologise on behalf of the coaching team and squad for the shocking performance.

"As a squad it wasn't good enough. The way I see it, the only way we can go is up now."

Pershore have arranged a home friendly with Worcester Sunday League side Worcester Athletic on Thursday (7.30pm).
