DROITWICH Spa aim to move up from fourth-from-bottom place in Midland Football League Division Two when they host Knowle on Saturday (3pm).

Stourport Swifts' tenants badly need a home win against the sixth-placed side after losing their last three league games.

Spa fell 3-1 at title-chasing Montpellier last Saturday with the hosts deserving their victory.

The Studley-based side led 1-0 at half-time through a Jacob Snape header.

Stuart Hendrie broke away to make it two before Nick Seabourne headed in Bradley Burgess' corner to pull a goal back.

But then Montpellier substitute Charlie Neath danced around three players to seal their win.

It followed a cruel President's Cup quarter-final defeat on penalties for Spa to Northfield Town last week which continued their disappointing home form.

After drawing 1-1 with another below-par display, Droitwich lost 5-4 on spot-kicks.

Spa keeper Matty Oliver denied Stewart Stanford, Shaun Hunter and Patrik Beehan but defences were generally on top.

The hosts took the lead when Haydn Morris broke into the box before being hacked down and Max Crisp scored the penalty.

It was only a matter of time before Northfield levelled and it arrived through Stanford on 76 minutes.

Droitwich looked content to play for penalties but then Jack Allerton saw his spot-kick saved by Jack O’Day and Stanford converted the winner.

Crisp, Curtis Townley, Seabourne and Morris were on target in the shoot-out for Spa.
