LOAN signing Tyrone Duffus hopes to get Hereford on the path to bigger things while furthering his own career.

The Cardiff City under-23s midfielder, at Edgar Street until January, bagged a brace on his Bulls debut in Saturday’s 5-0 beating of Hitchin Town.

Pete Beadle’s men moved up to fourth in the Southern League courtesy of four matches without defeat in the Premier Division – a run that extends to nine games in all competitions – heading into tonight’s home clash with third-bottom St Ives Town (7.45).

"I knew they had a good fan base,” said Duffus. “It is a good club that should be in a higher league than it is but they're pushing for that now.

“I was excited to come here because it's a good club and they play well.

"I want to just get some minutes, play first-team football and do as well as I can.

"I'm just looking forward to the month ahead."

Subject to international clearance, Elliot Richards could be involved following his transfer from troubled Merthyr Town.

In contrast, Redditch United will be looking to alter their current form when Frome Town visit the Valley Stadium (7.45).

Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Royston Town extended to six matches United’s winless streak in the league, resulting in a drop to ninth in the standings for Darren Byfield’s men.
