BUSINESSES in Worcestershire are being advised help is at hand despite the coronavirus crisis.

One Worcestershire, which promotes Worcestershire as a place to do business, has given advice to firms unsure of what the future holds.

A number of Worcestershire organisations are providing help and support to businesses.

The Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has put together a list of tips and links to help businesses find the right advice.

The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is regularly updating its news section for all the latest updates on coronavirus and its impact on business.

Worcestershire Business Central has been regularly updating its social media followers on how they can seek support.

A spokesman for One Worcestershire said: "While it’s undoubtedly an uncertain period for many, there have been many reasons to be cheerful.

"Local firm Gtech was featured on BBC Midlands Today earlier this week highlighting how it has given over its production line to produce ventilators to relieve pressure on the NHS.

"The televised version of the report also featured Piston Gin, which has turned its hand to produce hand sanitiser to help satisfy huge demand."

Firms who wish to help the community can now easily volunteer their goods, services and time thanks to the #Here2Help campaign from Worcestershire County Council.

By filling out the form on the website, the council’s team will put you in touch with people who have requested support.

Central government has launched a raft of measures to keep businesses afloat during the crisis.

The Coronavirus Business Interruption scheme increased loan borrowing from £1.2 million to £5 million, with the first six months of finance interest free.

This funding can be accessed through British Business Bank and launched on March 23.

In addition, chancellor Rishi Sunak announced businesses would pay no VAT for the next quarter, as well as releasing £330 billion in rates relief.
