NEWS of Kimbo the dog’s reprieve from euthanasia is certainly welcome news.

He was used by his owner during a savage attack in the city centre where Andy Cornes, encouraged him to attack the victim in The Trinity, near Bushwackers, shouting ‘get him!’ as it inflicted deep bite wounds.

Dogs are only mirrors to their owners and in this case, Kimbo was only doing as instructed by his master.

It is despicable that the dog’s loyalty was manipulated in this way, with no concern for the consequences.

Many Worcester News readers thought the same, blaming the original owner, Cornes and not the dog for the attack.

Kimbo’s new owner, Kim Thomas, the Crown Prosecution Service and solicitor Mark Sheward worked together to prevent the dog’s death sentence.

There are restrictions in place, including being on a lead and muzzled in public but hopefully now the dog and new owner can work together to get Kimbo back to a place where he receives love, stability and being treated with the respect he deserves as a living creature.
