TWO award-winning journalists have penned a new travel guide showcasing the very best of Worcestershire.

Chris and Teresa Green, who run Worcester-based media consultancy Chris Green Media, were commissioned to write Welcome to Worcestershire by Kingfisher Guides.

The hardback book will be placed in hotels across the county to inspire visitors to make the most of their stay in the region.

Chapters cover Worcestershire’s history, tourist attractions, shopping, nightlife, sport, arts and culture, eating out and surrounding areas of interest including Shakespeare country, Herefordshire and Birmingham.

Teresa Green, a former sports and travel writer who has lived in the county for more than 30 years, said: “Writing this book during an English summer was a real treat.

"There are so many fascinating places to explore on our doorstep from the lush Malvern Hills to New Road, the world’s most picturesque cricket ground.”

Experienced author and former Radio 5 Live and Radio 4 broadcaster Chris Green, who was born and bred in Worcester, added: “As a Worcestershire Ambassadors board member, I’m proud to promote the county as a great place to live, work and spend leisure time.

"Being involved with Welcome to Worcestershire has confirmed just how much residents and businesses have to shout about.”
