SCHOOLS will take part in a special concert at Worcester Cathedral this evening.

The event is part of the run-up to Mayflower 400, marking the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower ship sailing to America and one of the occupants was Edward Winslow from Droitwich.

St Clements CE Primary School in St John's, Worcester is one of seven schools taking part.

A spokeswoman for the school said: "This is such a prestigious event and we are all very excited to be taking part and have been rehearsing with Simon Taranczuk, the director of music at Kings School who have organised the event.

"They'll be a big turn out and many of the parents will watch.

"Music is great as it really helps the children with learning in the classroom and builds confidence and focus."

Tickets are for families only and they have all sold out.
