House prices increased slightly in Worcester in September, new figures show.
But the boost does not reverse the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area suffer a 1.0% annual decline .
The average Worcester house price in September was £213,709, Land Registry figures show – a 0.7% increase on August.
Over the month, the picture was better than that across the West Midlands, where prices decreased 0.4% , and Worcester outperformed the 0.2% drop for the UK as a whole.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Worcester remained level – putting the area 29th among the West Midlands’s 30 local authorities for annual growth.
The best annual growth in the region was in Dudley, where properties increased on average by 6%, to £185,000. At the other end of the scale, properties in North Warwickshire dropped 2.3% in value, giving an average price of £197,000.
