The work is being done to improve Junction 6 of the M5 and as part of the improvement scheme, the roundabout, slip roads and all the approaches will be widened. An extra lane will also be added to the roundabout with traffic lights on the A449 and A4538 Pershore Lane South approaches.

The weather has hampered the work so far, with the Highways website saying: “Unfortunately, we encountered unforeseen challenges due to poor ground conditions and additional groundwater, which has delayed our progress.

“We still have work to do in other areas and we will be removing the remainder of the roadworks in phases over the next few months.

“We are working hard to complete this work as quickly and as safely as possible and aim to complete all the work in autumn 2019.”
