A SERVICE to honour the allied troops who took part in the Normandy Landings is being held in Worcester this weekend.
At 4pm on Sunday there is a special D-Day commemorative service at Worcester Cathedral, organised by the Worcestershire branch of the Royal British Legion, along with the Dean and Chapter of the cathedral. The service will feature a guard of honour and a wreath laying by D-Day veteran Harold Wilson.
All are invited to attend the service and commemorate the sacrifices made on June 6, 1944 and throughout the subsequent Normandy Campaign, which saw more than 225,000 Allied casualties between June and August of that year.
