A recruitment firm in Worcestershire has been collecting Easter eggs for disadvantaged children and young carers.

Throughout April, Hewett Recruitment hosted an Easter Egg collection for the disadvantaged children and young carers throughout the county.

Hewett staff at Worcester and Kidderminster branches all contributed towards the Easter Egg collection, as well as receiving multiple generous donations from clients, partners and local companies, including Handelsbanken, Harrison Clark Rickerbys, Southco, Agility Group and Worcester University.

All donations will be shared amongst Worcestershire charities YSS and Worcester Community Trust, who manage 6 community centres in Worcester and run a range of community projects helping change young people’s lives every day.

The collection aims to provide some “Easter cheer” to the youngsters who may otherwise miss out on the season’s festivities.

A spokesman for Hewett Recruitment said: "We host an Easter collection every year; but this time we wanted to go bigger than ever, splitting the donations between the two fantastic local charities, to ensure we provide treats to as many children as possible.

"The generosity shown by local companies has been overwhelming, and with over 400 eggs collected, we’ve certainly gone bigger and better!"

Faith Sanderson, Worcester Community Trust’s CEO shares "We’re so grateful, this will really make a huge difference to our young people.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to Hewett Recruitment for donating such an overwhelming number of Easter Eggs."

Jonathan Cawdron, Senior Project Co-ordinator at YSS, said: "A large number of our young people are unable to enjoy some of the things that most of us take for granted and so I cannot underestimate the positive impact that the receiving of a chocolate egg will have on them and their families."
