Sunday, April 7 saw West Worcester Youth U12s play against WCT Raiders U12s at Malvern Town in the Ron Handy Memorial Shield Final.

It was perfect playing conditions and both teams settled well into the game.  Early on in the first half West Worcester Youth had several shots, forcing the Raider’s keeper to make some great saves.

Eventually West Worcester Youth scored an opening goal through man of the match Noah Bright just before half time.

The second half was action packed seeing Liam Higgins score a well placed second goal for West Worcester and Noah Bright scoring again after the Raider’s goalkeeper mishandled the ball across the goal line.  Raiders did score a late goal with the final score 3-1 to West Worcester Youth.

We’re very keen to receive pictures from parents, coaches, spectators and amateur photographers who want to see their images in the newspaper and online – and seen by tens of thousands of people – with their name published to credit them.

We’re looking for team photos before the match as well as action shots, and just the name of the club or clubs involved.

There’s no need to send us the names of the children taking part.

But, whether it’s basketball, football or rugby, hockey or athletics, gymnastics or martial arts, swimming or any of the other sports that our young people are involved with, and you want us to cover your team or can send us pictures of your matches, please email editor Michael Purton at michael.purton@newsquest.co.uk
