Sir – It was interesting to read that buses on the new Nimrod route “will” run – though they have been running for some weeks.
What must puzzle your readers is guessing whether the wrong note in the quotation from Elgar’s Enigma Variations No.IX (Nimrod), painted on the sides of these buses, is a mistake by the painter or by First’s musical adviser, or whether the error is deliberate, designed to test passengers’ familiarity with the work, or perhaps some sort of April Fools’ joke.
I think we should be told.
