HEAVY rain, strong winds and a “danger to life” are expected at the weekend as Storm Freya hits the county.
The storm is set to hit Worcestershire on Sunday afternoon (March 3) with the bad weather expected to remain throughout the night and into Monday.
The Met Office’s severe yellow weather warning has been set for 3pm on Sunday until 6am on Monday.
The Met Office has said injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible and damage to buildings and trees such roof tiles falling and branches falling could also occur.
Cancellations and longer journey times could be possible on rail services in and out of the county.
Some roads and bridges may close and disruption is expected.
The Met Office has also said to prepare for potential power cuts and disruption to mobile phone coverage.
