A WORCESTER property management firm has been awarded a massive new contract for a development in London.

Mainstay, based at Whittington Hall in Whittington Road, has been hired to take on the £600 million first phases of the Hallsville Quarter development in Canning Town.

The development is part of the £3.7 billion Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme and includes a new town centre with residential and commercial property and is being delivered over five phases to provide 1,100 mixed-tenure homes as well as 30,000 square metres of leisure and commercial space.

Charles Lucas, technical director at Mainstay, said: “We are delighted to be appointed to manage this landmark scheme for East London.

“Mainstay Group has seen continued growth in recent years, and this latest win after a vigorous tender process is testament to our reputation as a quality and trustworthy managing agent."

Mainstay, established in 2000, now manages over 80,000 properties across the county from its Worcester office.

The first phase of the plan was completed in 2015, with phase two being completed in 2018. Work on phase three, which includes 620 flats and over 100,000 square feet of residential and commercial development.

The project will be delivered by London firm Linkcity development director Simon Rosenberg said: “When the Hallsville Management Company board undertook the selection process, we were keen to choose a partner who we felt would share our values in terms of quality and attention to detail.

“As a company with two decades’ worth of experience and a proven track record in delivering excellence, Mainstay felt like the natural choice.”

The Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme is designed to make East London a more attractive place to live and work and provide a boost to the area's economy.
