WORCESTER'S branch of HMV is safe despite the firm announcing the closure of 27 stores after coming out of administration.

The future of the store, in Crowngate, appeared in doubt when HMV went into administration just before Christmas, but on Tuesday morning it was announced that the retailer had been bought out by Canadian company Sunrise.

Across the region, branches of HMV in Hereford and at Merry Hill near Stourbridge will be closing down.
