LAST week there was outrage when a paedophile who had repeatedly offended was spared prison for yet another crime, and I'm sure our readers will be just as furious to learn that another pervert with a string of convictions has avoided jail.

There was a huge response to our report on the sentencing of Keith Holloway – a man who once sexually assaulted a three-year-old girl in a supermarket – last Monday because the judge decided not to send the 65-year-old to prison despite him breaching a court order for the fourth time, after the defence lawyer said being jailed would be 'crushing' for the paedophile.

Today we report on the decision of another judge to not jail David Kimbrey, a man with three convictions and who was found with images of toddlers being raped, because the 27-year-old could "develop suicidal feelings of an extremely strong kind very quickly".

Why are the feelings of paedophiles with multiple convictions a priority?

Surely the priority should be protecting children from these serial offenders by locking them up.
