A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape in Worcester, following a police CCTV appeal.

A police spokesman said: “Following an appeal put out by West Mercia Police this morning (Sunday 27 January), a 23-year-old man from Worcester has been arrested on suspicion of attempted rape.

“The man was arrested as a direct result of information provided by the public in response to the appeal.

“He has been arrested in connection with an incident in Taylor's Lane, Worcester, in the early hours of yesterday morning. A woman in her 30s was approached by a man who attacked her.”

Officers from Worcester CID have thanked everyone who shared the appeal and provided information.

Police enquiries are ongoing.
