A BOOK shop has been helping those less fortunate

Oliver’s Book Shop in Callow End has made a charitable contribution to assist a Christmas Shoe Box campaign encouraged by the Rev. Gary Crellin and hosted by the the charity Teams4U.

The appeal is directed for children of Romania and Belarus, where current political tensions, have made many people’s lives especially challenging.

In total 260 books will be contributed by Oliver’s Book Shop. The company operates from Callow End.

Rev Gary Crellin, the Vicar of Powick said: “It was such a pleasant surprise to receive a phone call from Oliver’s Book Shop out of the blue after a colleague posted our campaign on Facebook. Oliver was responding to my Christmas Shoe Box campaign for Teams4U - a Wrexham based charity that sends filled shoe boxes across Central and Eastern Europe. The offer to offer puzzle books for the boxes collected was grasped enthusiastically - after all, it will be another present for children that may not get much at Christmas.

Can I thank Oliver and his team for responding to our post and being so generous at this time of year.”

Teams4U operate around the world changing the lives of deprived children, and their communities, through supporting education and healthcare, providing aid and delivering shoeboxes.

In 2017 they delivered over 38,000 shoebox gifts to children and families.
