A PRISONER who killed a fellow inmate with one punch has had another seven years added to his sentence.

James Johnson, aged 39, denied the manslaughter of Luke Derriman, 39, at HMP Hewell, in Redditch, near Worcester, in January.

However, he was found guilty of the offence and sentenced to seven years behind bars at Worcester Crown Court today.

Detective Inspector James Bayliss from West Mercia Police said: "Prison investigations are by their very nature challenging, and violence like this and in such an establishment will always be thoroughly investigated.

"Luke Derriman's death serves to remind us that one punch can have devastating consequences and ultimately - as in this case - can kill.

"This result can in no way bring Luke back and so our thoughts remain with his family and friends."
