A PLAY mate is needed for a rescue dog hoping for a loving new home.

Eric is a black 14-month-old lurcher puppy in the care of RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch.

He is a friendly, sweet natured, affectionate boy who would ideally like an adult home with another dog and lots of company.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "Eric has typical puppy behaviour and he can play rather rough at times. He needs an experienced new owner who has the time and patience to help him overcome his rough play. He is not aggressive, just over excitable at times.

"Eric enjoys his toys and his favourite pastime is chasing a tennis ball, which he likes thrown again and again! He knows sit, down, wait and walks to heel. Eric is a lovely boy who really deserves lots of tender loving care.

"He loves long walks, is good on the lead and around other dogs. He will walk calmly past cows and horses and he is brilliant travelling in the car."

Eric is fit and healthy and in excellent condition. He is housetrained, neutered, chipped and vaccinated.

If you feel you can offer Eric the loving home he deserves, ring Geraldine on 01886 822083.

For more rescued animals seeking adoption, visit rspca-worcester.org or call Geraldine on the number above for dogs or The Holdings Centre for cats and rabbits on 07484 905707.

The centre in Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, Worcester WR5 3FP is open every day (except Wednesdays) between 11am and 4pm to meet the cats and rabbits. There are no dogs on site, they continue to be boarded at private kennels.

Brian, the white staffie featured last month, went to a new home on Saturday and is settling in well.
