AN ex-landlord of a pub has called a company “diabolical and atrocious” after he claims they told him to leave.

Matthew Fisher, ex-landlord of The Plough and Harrow in Drakes Broughton, claims the brewery did not given him a reason for why they wanted him to leave.

However, brewery Ei said the pub, which shut just over a week ago, will re-open under new management.

A spokesman from Ei Publican Partnerships said: “We’re delighted to announce that the Plough and Harrow is undergoing refurbishment works over the coming weeks and will reopen as soon as possible under the guidance of award-winning operators from the Old Spot Pub Company, who also run the Anchor Inn, Wyre Piddle.

"We would like to reassure members of the local neighbourhood that the pub will very much retain its place as a hub for the community, championing a classic menu of quality British food with an outstanding Sunday carvery, alongside an extensive drinks range, including local real ales and craft gins.”

Mr Fisher said he and his staff will be moving to The Masons Arms in Wadborough, near Pershore.

The head chef who has been working at The Plough and Harrow will take over the kitchen at the Masons Arms.

He said: “We will miss the local people and the regulars” and added: “It will be a pleasure to serve at the Masons Arms.”

Mr Fisher also runs The Oak pub at Broadwas.
