A REDDITCH woman has told how she cradled a man in her arms as he died after a stabbing in Redditch.

A murder investigation is currently under way after a man, named locally as Colton Bryan, was stabbed at a home in Guinness Close at around 10pm last night (Wednesday, July 15).

Police said that a man in his 20s was located inside a property, who died at the scene.

A witness, who did not wish to be named, told The Advertiser of her horror as she tried to save him after the attack.

She said: “I haven’t had any sleep. I feel numb and sick.

“I was trying to stop the blood – he had been stabbed and I knew he was dead on the floor. I had heard at scream.

“I cradled him for twenty to twenty-five minutes and lay next to him on the sofa before the police came.

“He died in my arms – I was holding his hand.

“There was so much blood, it was everywhere.”

Another resident said he was “upset” about what happened. He said: “I’ve never seen any thing like it here.

“It’s quiet around here – you wouldn’t expect it. We don’t know what has really gone on.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 9.38pm, two ambulances, two paramedic officers and two BASICS emergency doctors attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition. Staff worked as a team to administer advanced life support on scene to the man.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

His family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained police officers.

Detective Inspector Ed Slough, from West Mercia Police, said: “Last night we were called to an incident where a man has sadly died. His family have been informed and we are supporting them through this traumatic time.”

“We have launched a murder investigation and our enquiries are ongoing. We currently have a scene guard in place. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101.”
