HERE are more notable cases heard at Worcester Magistrates in the last month.

A man from Malvern was given a conditional discharge after being found guilty of assaulting two people in the town.

Stephen Evans, of Edith Berry Court, appeared before magistrates on February 14 having previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, which state he assaulted a man and a woman on March 16 last year. 56 year-old Evans was found guilty at trial and magistrates handed him an 18-month conditional discharge.

He was also ordered to pay £355 in costs and a victim surcharge, but no order for compensation was made to avoid "aggravating the situation between neighbours"

A Droitwich man who admitted drink driving has been fined and banned from driving. James Webley, of Celvestune Way, appeared before magistrates in Worcester on February 20 where he admitted being the driver of an Audi RS3 with 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Droitwich on January 23 this year. The 37 year-old was fined £467 in addition to being banned from driving for 14 months.

A woman who admitted stealing more than £200 worth of goods from Asda in Worcester has been jailed for eight weeks.

Laura Whatmore, of Windmill Close, Stourport on Severn, admitted taking the various items on January 13 this year.

She was handed an eight week jail term to run consecutively with another sentence she received for stealing food from Morrisons in Droitwich in September last year. The 31 year-old was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122 for the theft.

An Evesham man who admitted drink driving has been fined and banned from driving.

38 year-old William Symonds, of Snaffle Way, admitted driving a VW Tuareg on the A46 with 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He pleaded guilty to the single charge when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates on February 20 and he was ordered to pay £340. He was also banned from driving for 17 months.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who failed to attend his court hearing to face theft charges. Caio Balbino, 22, of Sansome Place, was due to face a single charge of stealing £6.04 worth of food from B&M in Worcester.
