THE young athletes at Holy Redeemer Primary, Pershore, braved the miserable weather to enjoy a morning of running at the Sainsbury’s Games South Worcestershire cross-country heats.
It was a very successful event; Toby Marchant won the Year 6 Boys race, and his classmate Tom Porter finishing second. There were also top six places for Elizabeth Annis (Year 6) and Reuben Sheffield (Year 5).
All four will go on to compete at the regional event later in the year, representing South Worcestershire.

The Team events were a huge success also with the Year 5 girls and boys teams both finishing second overall whilst the Year 6 girls team came seventh.
School governor Pamela Clark said: “Due to their speedy times the pupils also brought home Year 6 Boys Shield; so there was much to celebrate.
"Holy Redeemer offer an early morning running club and it was clear that despite the cold, wet day and muddy course those Tuesday morning sessions really paid off!"
